Ocean Grown is not just another reggae band from Hawaii. From our inaugural performance more than five years ago, we set our sights on dismantling any preconceived notions regarding the usual Hawaiian-reggae show.

What kind of music can you expect? Well If your ask our Lead Guitarist, the Cosmic Catfish himself, you’ll likely get a different response than that of our Lead Singer Tanner. Tim, like every good Drummer, is always on time and never is wrong. He says we play reggae. Kevin on the backup vocals and rhythm guitar would agree in lockstep. Chase on the bass? Nope. He thinks we play alternative. In a way, we’re all right but the disagreement is just part of the fun we have doing what we love. Something we can all agree on: Ocean grown is more than a band, we are a family.  

Ocean Grown works to melt together the ooey-gooey chops of the reggae genre with the powerful lyrical deliveries heard in Cali-reggae. We shove all the goodness into a blender and add the subtle squeeze of textures that range from the lush and chimey, with a hint of psychedelia for songs like “Over and Over”, or a flood of powerful driving-grooves that will get your blood going in songs like “Rebel Rider”.

We play original music and we have a lot of it. We released our first single “To Live” in late 2021 and have started off ‘22 with our second single release , “Fire”. Our Ep is slated to release in March of 2022. 

Ocean Grown will specifically rehearse for each individual venue with an aim to provide a once in a lifetime performance. We honestly believe we are nothing without our fans. To show them our admiration we always make time to greet them after every gig.
